Celebrating The Purple Parade 2026

Celebrating The Purple Parade 2026

Dear friends & supporters of The Animal Project,

The Purple Parade is back on Saturday, 24 October 2026 (2pm to 7pm), and we have to admit, it is one of our favourite days of the year. Not because of the music or the carnival (although those are great fun too!), but because of what it stands for: a Singapore where persons with disabilities are not just seen, but truly included, valued and celebrated.

For all of us at The Animal Project, that is a cause very close to our hearts.

A movement that keeps growing

This year marks the 14th edition of The Purple Parade, and it will once again take place at Suntec City. What started in 2013 as a ground-up idea has grown into Singapore's largest inclusive movement, supported by the Central Singapore CDC and The Purple Parade Limited, with hundreds of partners from the people, public and private sectors.

If you have never been, here is what to look forward to: a contingent march where schools, companies and organisations walk side by side in solidarity, a carnival of food, games and handmade goods by persons with disabilities, and a concert full of talented performers from the disability community. Last year, more than 45,000 people came together to celebrate. Imagine how much purple we can paint the town this year!

The only dress code? Wear something purple. That's it. Come as you are, bring a friend, and maybe make new ones.

Why it matters to us

When we started The Animal Project, we had a simple belief: our artists with special needs have abilities worth celebrating. They love animals, and they draw them quickly, intuitively and without hesitation. The results are honest, joyful and full of personality.

Our job is to turn that artwork into beautifully curated, quality lifestyle products that people genuinely want to use every day. Every sale contributes to the artists' income. And when an artist sees someone carrying their giraffe on a tote bag or spreading their flamingos out on the grass, it is not just a transaction. It is recognition. It is confidence. It is a step towards independence.

That is exactly the spirit of The Purple Parade. Celebrating abilities. Supporting inclusion. Not just for one day in October, but every day of the year.

Our Purple Parade bundles

To celebrate, we have put together two special bundles, perfect for a day out at the parade, a picnic in the park, or simply as a meaningful gift for someone you love.

Bundle 1: Picnic Mat + Foldable Travel Bag, now $55 (save $15)

Our colourful Picnic Mat ($42) paired with the handy Foldable Travel Bag ($28). Fold the bag up small, and open it up whenever you need to carry snacks, water bottles or carnival treats home. A simple, practical pair for anyone who loves being outdoors.

Bundle 2: Dapper Tote + Picnic Mat, now $76 (save $26)

For those who like to head out in style, our Dapper Tote ($60) comes together with the same cheerful Picnic Mat ($42). The tote is roomy enough for your day's essentials, and smart enough to carry to work on Monday. This is our biggest saving of the two.

Both bundles feature animal artwork drawn by our artists with special needs, so every purchase supports them directly.

See you in purple

So here is my small invitation to you. On 24 October, put on something purple, head down to Suntec City, and join tens of thousands of Singaporeans in celebrating what persons with disabilities can do. Cheer on the contingents, enjoy the performances, and support the many inclusive businesses at the carnival.

And if you'd like to carry a little of that purple spirit home with you, our bundles are waiting. Because a more inclusive Singapore is not only kinder. It is stronger, richer and more human.

Thank you, as always, for walking this journey with us.

Warmly,

Roland Tay Founder, The Animal Project
